Description

Tools-EPM provides various command-line based utilities that simplify the daily tasks of an
technical EPM consultant/engineer. The goal is to expand the tool set continuously and to support EPM 11.1.2.3 and up. The aim is to be fully multi-platform compatible (Windows, Linux and UNIX).

Provided Tools

  • manageAdmin
    Manages the factory default [admin] user account of Oracle EPM. Allows you to print its given user-name, and change (reset) its password.
  • manageOpatch
    Manages OPatch inventory contents from a single Oracle Home, or all Oracle Homes on the system.
  • lcmReportManager
    Allows you to delete all or selectivly delete LCM migration reports through the command-line.
  • cryptTool
    Allows you to encode and decode password strings compatible with Shared Services through the command-line.

Prerequisites

  • Windows 2008 or Windows 2012 including R2 editons or
  • Linux compatible with EPM and sh shell
  • Java JDK 1.6 (default the JDK packaged with EPM is used)
  • Oracle EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) 11.1.2.3.x or 11.1.2.4.x installed
  • Some tools depend on Shared Services to be locally installed
  • Oracle common and Weblogic packaged with EPM

Tested on / with

  • Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
  • Windows 2012 R2 64-bit 
  • Oracle Linux 5, 6 and 7
  • Oracle EPM 11.1.2.3
  • Oracle EPM 11.1.2.4

Quick Start

Execute the tools without a parameter or with -h, --help in order to print the basic help.

Installation Notes

Copy and extract the Tools-EPM folder somewhere on a EPM system. Make sure there are no spaces in the path. Adjust the variables in set_env.cmd to match your environment.

Known Limitations

  • Spaces in Tools-EPM installation path is not supported
  • EPM 11.1.2.1 and older is not supported for some utilities
  • Oracle EPM in the Oracle cloud (e.g. PCBS) is not supported

Upgrade from earlier releases

Simply remove the old Tools-EPM folder and replace it with the new one.
